Did i mention that I am on my third instinct? I am in the same boat as you, I want out of my instinct. I don't know about all of the other phones that you mentioned, but I can tell you that all of the Sprint phones that I've had, they are all limited to 160 characters in text, which is really frustrating when your friends are like, "why the hell are your texts all split up?!". I personally do like Sprint service, but they definitely need to come out with some better phones. Based on my experience with this phone, I don't think I will ever buy another samsung product again. I mostly blame samsung, as I have never experienced any of these problems with the other Sprint phones that I've had. I am half tempted to break my contract and switch to AT&T, especially since they just denied me of a loyalty discount after being with them for 8+ years.
